Description: The dorcas gazelle (Gazella dorcas) is very well adapted to living in the arid and semi-arid regions of northern Africa and western Arabia. Living in such places, this gazelle may go its entire life without drinking water by obtaining all needed moisture from vegetation.
Herds wander over a wide area and tend to congregate in areas where recent rainfall has stimulated plant growth. To avoid desert heat, dorcas gazelles graze at night, dusk, or dawn.
