Dumbo
It's a big day at the circus when the stork delivers a pint-sized elephant to
Mrs. Jumbo....but with his oversized ears the innocent newcomer is snubbed,
and dubbed "Dumbo" by the other elephants. Because he was clumsy and tripped
over his ears, the other elephants didn't want him in their act, so they
decided to make him a clown. This made Dumbo sad, he wanted to be an
elephant, not a clown. Timothy, the circus mouse found Dumbo looking sad, and
befriended him. It was Timothy who decided to teach Dumbo how to use his big
ears to fly. He took Dumbo to the woods, and made a runway out of a log and a
board. "Just flap your ears and jump hard" he said. Three crows were watching
as Dumbo jumped. He flapped his ears hard...and fell flat on the ground. But
Tmothy was a clever mouse, and he had another idea. He picked up a crow
feather and handed it to Dumbo, telling him it was a magic feather and would
enable him to fly. Dumbo jumped and flapped his ears, while he held tight to
the feather, and suddenly he was flying. Higher and Higher he flew, and soon
the crows were flying with him. "Now you will be the star of the circus"
Timothy said..and Dumbo was happy. He soon became the star of the circus, and
his mother was so proud. Dumbo's unforgettable adventure is a lesson for us
all, proving that friendship, love, and a belief in oneself can overcome all
odds.
