Description: Xenosmilus ("Strange knife") is a relatively newly described genus of saber-toothed cat. This genus has one species, X. hodsonae, and the fossils were found in a limestone quarry in Florida.

Xenosmilus lived about 1 million years ago. It was a heavily built feline approximately the size of a lion. The upper canine teeth were relatively short and broad.
