Barbary Sheep
The Barbary Sheep or Aoudad (Ammotragus lervia) is the only wild 'sheep' found
in Africa. It is, however, a sheep by name only, having just as much in common
with the goats as with sheep. It is found in small herds in the desert
mountains of North Africa, and a small feral population exists in the southern
United States. Both sexes possess crescent-shaped horns, though these are
often more developed in males.
