Description: Bonobos are a very rare and much smaller species of chimp. There are very few in captivity. They were discovered in 1933. Their scientific name is Pan paniscus. They are edemic to Congo. Also called the Pygmy Chimp, they, unlike other apes, live in groups of up to 100 members. They are the most human-like ape and share 99% of their genetics with us. Because they are so rare guests love them.
