Description: The Jungle cat hails from southeast Asia, from India and China to Egypt. They are a brownish color, with faint stripes sometimes seen. This cat is a bit larger than the wildcats, weighing 7-15 kg. Litter size is large, 3-6 on average. They are indepent rather quickly, at 8-10 months. Despite its name, the Jungle cat prefers open grassland and swampy march areas.

Jungle Cat
The Jungle cat hails from southeast Asia, from India and China to Egypt. They
are a brownish color, with faint stripes sometimes seen. This cat is a bit
larger than the wildcats, weighing 7-15 kg. Litter size is large, 3-6 on
average. They are indepent rather quickly, at 8-10 months. Despite its name,
the Jungle cat prefers open grassland and swampy march areas. This gives it
its other common names, the swamp cat or reed cat. They are fairly common and
relatively easy to care for. Give this cat lots of water in your zoo.
