Description: The Sand Cat is a small cat species which lives in the deserts of northern Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia.
Sand Cats are very good at digging, and construct or extend burrows underground to live in. Interestingly, their claws are not very sharp, as there is not much to sharpen them on in the desert. The base of each foot is covered in thick black fur, to insulate the cat so it can walk on the hot sand.
It has thick, sandy-colored fur, with dark stripes on its legs, head, ears and face, and dark rings around its bushy tail.
