Ichthyosthega
As Acanthoshtega, the paleontologists have a lot of information on
Ichthyosthega, because they were discovered almost complete skeletons in
Greenland, formerly part of the called continent Laurentia. Ichthyosthega
breathed for lungs, although also had gills, and the specialists believe that
the long existent fin in its tail is an indicative one that the animal lived
in the water. Even so, there are indications that its legs and shoulders were
plenty strong, what allowed small trips for firm earth. Ichthyostega
maintained its lateral line, a present sensorial organ in most of the fish
that does with that the animal feels the vibrations of the water. This given
takes to the conclusion that was a to be basically aquatic.
