Description: The ferret is a domestic form of the European polecat. It has a long, slender body, short limbs and a playful childish temperament. They are carnivores, but they also like eggs, stone fruits and berries. 5000 years ago, the first ferrets are mentioned in a document. Humans always love to live together with this nice little carnivore, who hunts rats and other gnawers. They are very social animals and love to live in small groups. Females usually have one litter per year (6-9 young). This animal will add interest to any zoo.
