Irrawaddy Dolphin

The Irrawaddy dolphins live in Southeast Asia and Northern Australia.
Although they inhabit the coasts, they can live in freshwater rivers 1300 km
from the sea.  These friendly mammals are classified as dolphins, but they
look very similar to belugas.  Like the belugas, Irrawaddy dolphins have no
beaks and can change their face expression.  The family unit of these dolphins
consists of about 6 to 15 singles.  They can be seen leaping and tail
slapping.  Irrawaddy dolphins came into contact with humans for a very long
time.  Vietnamese and Cambodian fishermen deemed the Irrawaddy dolphin as
sacred animals.
