Welcome back and welcome to new people.
First thing on my list is getting this site back in order. This is a huge task and I would ask you be patient while I redo links and recreate the months worth of work we lost.
Another high priority is fixing the registration area. For now that has been turned off. I have also had a massive cleanout there because of the huge amount of spambots registered and some people might have to reregister, when that is turned back on, to ask questions.
Those members that I recognised and did not delete will still be able to log in.
As many will know, the original owner, Yellowrose, has disappeared and both the Download Directory and the Designer's Guild vanished not long after. Since no one has been able to contact her and I was unable to take over the original site without her permission, I decided to get a new web address and load the last backups done by Jay.
Hopefully she will find the new sites and return sometime in the future. I know from posts by her that she would not have wanted this site, in particular, lost.
There were a lot of people who have now left the ZT community that helped in the original creation of this site - Yellowrose, Cleesburg, Bielski, Penguinman, ShenTirag, Nique, and others since then, as you will see in the posts.
I hope you find the information at this site to be useful.
:bye
It is just wonderful to have the site back Fern :throw
:TY for all you've done and still be doing :hugs1
Hi everyone
Registration is now open. You won't see anything you can't already see, but it will mean that you can post questions concerning the information at the Download Directory or at the related Zoo Tycoon Designer Guild web sites. when you first become a member, you will not be able to start new topics or send personal messages, but you can post in existing topics. So you can ask your question in one of the Questions topics. Once you have made a couple posts in existing topics, then you will be able to start new topics and send personal messages.
The other reason, of course, is that it does enable you to see which posts are new when logged in.
Hello!I'm cire321 and you may know me from Zoo Tycoon Unleashed and Zoo Tycoon Wildlife.I know you guys are busy because you've missed a lot of good downlods LOL :raspb
hello cire321 - you are right - people have been very very busy reconstructing and resurrecting the site :faint they are busy sorting out all the downloads but there are so many it is going to take quite a while :eggyes however, we all think it is better to get the site up and running as a work in progress than to wait until it is complete - mind you with people making so many new downloads, it will never be complete for more than about 10 minutes!! :eggcrazy :eggroll :eggblink :eggunsure
The whole community should thank all the hard working staff members here. Thank you for offering this service to the community. It does make it easier to locate some downloads and offers some great helpful information.
thanks for that :hugs1 this site is also great for inspiration
Hello many of you probably know me from northern skies, Zoo tycoon wildlife, And Zoo tycoon hideout reborn, Thank you staff members for all your hard work :) :TY
hi zacbonic - nice to see you here. enjoy...
welcome zacbonic!! :pompoms
Welcome zacbonic! :bye :bye :bye Hope you find all kinds of marvelous things for your zoos!
hello you all,
thank you so much for setting up this site, it is such a great value to all users.
I am most of the time "only" user, but earlier I did also translations for zootycoon abc in germany.
If there is need, please send me a pm.
Welcome Squeeky!! :bye
welcome squeeky!! :dancingpinkelephant :hamdance
good translators are hard to find :praise2, so i'm sure we'll find some things for you to do! :wub2 my daughter offered to do translation to and from German a few years ago but then she got a job so she's been too busy... :clamtongue
Welcome Squeeky!
Hope to see you often?
oops, registered with the wrong name and can't find where to change it :(
T'ni from ZTUL and recently ZTP.
hoping to be making a bunch of DLs over the winter - mostly flowers i think - but i'll probably revive my Boreal Forest Animals pack project.
Welcome to ZTCDD. :bye
To change the Username used to log in here, that would probably need to be done by fern or me, since it involves a password reset and an email. But you can change the Name that is shown here in your posts and online list. Click "PROFILE" in the menu at the top. Then click "Account Related Settings" in the menu on the left. Change what is in the "Name" box, enter your password in the "Current Password" box, and click the "Change profile" button.
the display Name isn't editable by me. idk. i can go with "aka T'ni"
hello t'ni - lovely to see you here. this is where i hide out when i am depressed...
Quote from: eradani aka T'nithe display Name isn't editable by me. idk. i can go with "aka T'ni"
Okay. I changed your displayed Name to "eradani aka T'ni". But you would still log in using "eradani".
Welcome T'ni!! :fireworks Some great folks here and very useful information! Make yourself at home :bye
thank you Jay. not exactly what i meant but it's ok. sorry, i don't communicate well when i've got a migraine. stupid games that insist on flashing at you. and they're always good games so i don't want to delete them. so pfft, all my fault.
Welcome.
Would you like to have the same name as at Tek and ZTUF which is just T'ni?
yes plz and thx. sorry if i'm being obtuse this weekend. i've had a migraine for a couple days now. doesn't matter what i log in with. just display name T'ni will work. i don't want to forget who i am o_O
i've done that from time to time - i can't recommend it - you tend to end up in a terrible mess :crazy :duh
Welcome!...I look forward to seeing your work here!
(I too, have migraines...I understand what you are going through!)
i've been trying to give my eyes a bit of a rest today. writing code with black letters on a grey background, hehe. maybe i should go make another blue zoo - that idea ARIZNANA had was pretty soothing on the eyes.
blue zoo? intriguing! i am having eye trouble since they changed my meds a while back. seeing optician and doctor next week.
Rick here is a link to the screens ICY "BLUE LAGOON " (http://zootekphoenix.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9538)
thanks. not well enough for visiting tek today :crazy :duh
Hello, everybody, Jeremy here.
I've joined because I need some help figuring out how to manually fix an invisible UCA animal, (Mark Bell's invisibility fix is incompatible with my computer)and also for some reason zoot 1-1 can't find any images even though I followed the directions exactly.
Welcome to ZTCDD. :bye
For Zoot 1.1, I assume you tried doing the example in the following DG post:
http://www.ztcdd.org/DG/index.php?topic=4773.msg18199#msg18199
After doing step 4 in those instructions, you should have an elephantStatueExample folder directly in your C: drive's main folder. The C:\elephantStatueExample folder should contain 2 folders: objects and scenery. The C:\elephantStatueExample\objects folder should contain 1 folder: 1f5e912b. The C:\elephantStatueExample\objects\1f5e912b folder should contain 5 folders (idle, ne, nw, se, sw) and 2 files (i.pal and statue2.pal, neither of which are necessary but were created by the APE program). The C:\elephantStatueExample\objects\1f5e912b\idle folder should contain 9 files: idle.ani, ne, NE.pal, nw, NW.pal, se, SE.pal, sw, SW.pal. I attached 3 images to this post, which show what you should see before clicking Open in step 7, before doing step 8, and after doing step 9. These images might help you to determine which step was not done as expected. You can click on the 3 attached images to see them better.
As for the invisible animal, I assume you mean you see it in the purchase menu inside ZT, but that it is invisible when you put it inside an exhibit. There are many reasons that can cause an object to be invisible in ZT. It is unlikely that Marl Bell's invisibility fix would help you. His fix was for 1 specific type of invisibility problem, which was an incompatibility between APE and old MS Windows versions (Windows 98 and Windows ME). That problem has to do with ".ani" files. For example, the above description for elephantStateExample mentions an idle.ani file. APE created the following idle.ani file for that example:
[animation]
dir0 = objects
dir1 =1F5E912B
dir2 =idle
animation = NE
animation = SE
animation = SW
animation = NW
x0 = -44
y0 = -66
x1 = 44
y1 = 21
The problem with the old MS Windows versions is that they would not put anything after the "=". That is the problem that Mark Bell's program attempted to fix. But those ".ani" files can be edited manually if that is the problem. However, it is more likely that the problem is inside the animal's ".uca" file. There are many problems that can occur in a ".uca" file, including problems caused by the APE program. There is a Uca Editing Guide at ZKL that should be followed to correct problems in a ".uca" file:
http://www.lunamanar.com/zklounge/viewtopic.php?t=116
Although there are a lot of things that can cause an animal to be invisible, that guide mentions 2 possibilities: a missing cBashStrength line or a cFamily line being set to -1. If you still cannot find the problem, you can make a post in the Questions area here, showing the lines in your animal ".uca" file. There is a limit to how large a post can be. So if your ".uca" is too large, just show as much of it as you can in the post. It is also possible the invisibility is due to a problem with the images themselves. But if you were able to see the images in APE, then that would not be the problem.
Good luck with your creating.
Hi I new here been playing Zoo Tycoon for a few years my grandaughter got me started playing it and now I started playing Zoo Tycoon 2 and love it. :clap2
I used to play ZT1 eons ago, and was a part of several boards, but then life got in the way, and yeah. Had to put my beloved Zoo collections aside. Granted, I see that most of the last posts here are several years old, but it's nice to see that all the fun stuff that I adored including into my zoo still exists and these various boards as well. You'll probably see me lurking a bit more often, and whole knows, perhaps a new generation of ZT fans will emerge. You never know :) Feel free to message me with any questions and thank you for still being here for these awesome games after so many years! :clap2
Red
Hi Red - great to see you here :fireworks. It is true that many of the threads have not been recently posted, but don't let that fool you! There's an awful lot of work going on behind the scenes to make and configure new zt1 items all the time, so you will see lots of new stuff as well as your old favourites.
We're still here. Designing away.
Thank you for the warm welcome Mr Rick and glad to hear it toodlepops! I'll have to do some catch-up reading and get familiar with my game again since I'm a bit of an artist myself when i have the proper motivation. Maybe if I'm lucky, I can figure out how to add a few things myself without killing my game or anything hehe. That will take a bit though me thinks :)
~Red
There is only one person doing the listing posts and I am way behind, partly because I design as well. There is plenty of paths, fences, buildings and scenery being made, just less animals.
I have not been doing much with the ZT2 area as I do not play that one.
Well, Hello Fern, you seem to be the genius behind all this, if I am understanding correctly, so kudos to you! And I saw all the listings and such and I'm impressed! No wonder you are behind, poor thing. Just never forget to enjoy yourself, otherwise there is no point right?:)
~Red
:giggle We have a team of genius's here just they spend their time making new things for people to play with. We keep an eye on wishlists too.
I get enjoyment seeing people using the files we release at the Zoo Tycoon Designer Guild. (http://www.ztcdd.org/DG/index.php)
Hence why they are genius's hehe. And I've already discovered that little goldmine as well. Wonderful job, all of you for that :)
~Red
Hi folks,
I've created this tool and need some technical input from Jay. Can't seem to start a new topic or PM him, though...

Welcome to ZTCDD. :bye
I will send you a PM.
Hello,
I just wanted to pop in and say hi. Once a year or so I'll do some googling to see what kind of community still exists around Zoo Tycoon, especially the original games, and I'm always amazed at what I see.
I got into the game when it came out back in 2001 and was very active until I went to college in late 2004, right before ZT2 came out. To see people, including some I recognize from back then, still discussing, still creating, around this game is just mind-blowing to me. I was only really active for about 3 years, but it had such a meaningful impact on me when I was 15-18 years old. It's what got me into coding and designing which led me to the career I have. I had an online community to interact with.
All these years later I still reminisce back to those times. It was such a creative, engaging, and special thing. I loved every minute of it. I get a kick out of seeing efforts like this were my old downloads and hacks are still cataloged and available. I've long since lost all of it and can't even seem to get the game to run for me anymore on my current PC. So, this keeps that bit of me going and so I appreciate it!
Quivaz, it's so good to see you again! Glad you stopped by to say hi :D
Thanks, Cricket! I still feel like this community is a small part of me and my journey. Looking back now, I can't believe it started nearly 16 years ago and that I was really only active for about 3 years. I feel like so much happened in that time frame and that I was able to contribute something that others enjoyed. So many new discoveries, inventing new ways to build content for the game, excitement for the expansion packs, and everything else. Wild times.
I have always enjoyed your contributions to the community :D
That is very kind of you to say! I always got a lot of enjoyment in knowing others used and wanted my work. Likewise, I always enjoyed what everyone else contributed in return.
Nice to see you. Have sent you a pm.
Now that Zoo Admin has gone we would like your files to remain available by hosting them here at the Directory and also ZooTek would love to have them too but we need your permission because ZA did not give permission to anyone to host its files when it vanished which means we need permission from the designers themselves.
You have all the permission in the world to host them wherever and however. They wouldn't exist without a site like this keeping them available. I'm just thrilled that something I made 15 years ago is still relevant!
On a side-note, I played around with the installation of the original game today and was able to get it running! I haven't played in over a decade! Next will be to find some great user-made content to add into it! :D
Thank you. :throw
Some things might need updating before release.
Between ZooTek and the Designer Guild there are plenty of things including coloured fences, tanks and lots of paths. Not to mention buildings. So have fun hunting. If something is not available you can always request someone send it to you since many people have the files from many sites.
Yeah, I'll be taking a look around. I only got the original game installed. Can't find my discs for DD or MM, but this is enough to keep me happy for a while. I'm completely unaware of what might have been made after I left, especially when a lot of people might have moved on to ZT2 at that point.
ZooTek is the refuge for ZT1 players. So is this place. Some of us could never get into ZT2. the posts here should say what files will work with the original. ZKL is still around too.
I'll connect over there then and stop taking over your 'Welcome' thread. :D
You are welcome to stick around here but there will be more company for you over there. They still run contests even. Although ZKL is still around for downloads it is quiet compared to Tek. You might even recognise some people there too.
I think I still have things in the que for rotations that are a decade old. LOL Lots new to see. You're going to have fun!
Great to see you back! :fireworks :fireworks Thanks for the permissions - that means more fun for all of us into the future!
Hi friends,I am new here english speaking small. I love the game, Zoo Tycoon,I would like to download new buildings and animals,but I have no access,do you advise me how to do it?
Welcome to ZTCDD. :bye
This site lists downloads for other sites. When you see a download listing, you have to click the site name it shows to go to the site with the download. For example, the top of the download listing for the Australian Walkabout Exhibit looks like this:
Australian Walkabout Exhibit
ZT Designer Guild (http://www.ztcdd.org/DG/index.php?topic=5150.msg18387#msg18387)
Click Site name to reach the download
When you click "ZT Designer Guild", it goes to the ZT Designer Guild site so that you can get the download for that building. Every site does their downloads differently. For some sites, like ZT Designer Guild, there will be a "Download" to click to get the download. For some other sites, you have to be a member of that site to see or get the download. Some sites do not exist any more. So if "no longer exists" is shown, you will not be able to get the download from that site.
Good luck with getting the downloads you like. And Happy Zoo Tycooning. :bigsmile
Hi. I recently started wanting to make a few animals for Zoo Tycoon 1. I'm glad there seems to still be a few people left. I had a few questions. First, what happened to Zoo Tek Phoenix, why are all of their downloads holiday buildings? Second, is there a main Zoo Tycoon 1 community somewhere? Finally, I've got some old files from Zoo Admin and other lost sites. Do you want download links to them?
Welcome to ZTCDD. :bye
Zoo Tek Phoenix is the most active of the Zoo Tycoon (ZT) 1 sites. In addition to forums and downloads, they also do zoo building contests. As for downloads at their site or any sites, there is no schedule. Designers create things whenever they feel like creating something and have time to create something. Some designers are better at some types of objects than other types of objects. And different people have different interests, including among the designers. As for downloads from Zoo Admin and other closed sites, a number of us have those downloads. But we may not make them available for download unless we have permission from either a site owner or a designer. We do have permissions from some closed sites and designers to host their files, but it is another case of having time. Before hosting any files, they are checked and, in a number of cases, have problems that should be fixed before being made available. In the early days of ZT, the only tool available to make things was APE, and that tool causes a lot of problems. We have learned a lot over the years on how to correct those problems and there are also more tools now than then, such as configuration checkers, Zoot, APExp 3.2, and ZT Studio.
Good luck with your creating and Happy Zoo Tycooning. :bigsmile
Thanks for the advice, I'll make sure to check through those other tools.

Zoo Tek Phoenix can be found here (http://zootekphoenix.com/forums/)
We have more downloads than just the holiday buildings. Go to the downloads section and check them out. You'll have to register first, unless you're already a member :)
Thanks, I'm currently waiting for validation.

Welcome to Zoo Tek Phoenix...it's a great group of people, well organized, and so many ZT 1/2 downloads.
Welcome to here...this is a great place for info on so many subjects. I would be really surprised if you couldn't get an answer or help on any ZT problem!!!
Stricktly speaking I am not a new member, but I have been away for so long I thought that it would be polite to say hello here rather than just wading in and posting. I am sorry that I have been absent for such a long time. I have a motor neurone disease which has not only rendered me severely disabled but has also affected my mind and my memory. I was coping, just about, until I joined a motor neurone disease support group on which I made a number of friends, but the group was constantly under attack from scammers, who persuaded some desperate people to spend their much-needed money on false treatments. This upset me a great deal and I retreated from the internet to lick my wounds. I have just restarted my Facebook account and a very kind friend from here reminded me that I had been missing from here as well as from Facebook. For me this has always been a safe place, surrounded by my friends and so I have decided to restart my account here too. My memory has been badly affected by the condition, so please accept my apologies in advance if I post the same thing twice or if I ask the same questions repeatedly. Thank you Fern, for thinking of me and posting on my birthday thread on Faebook reminding me about my friends in the zoo tycoon community. In the world outside the internet I now find remembering the names of people I have known for years very difficult, so if I don't seem to remember you, please forgive me - I hope that it will not happen. I also hope that everyone here has been safe through the pandemic. Anyhow, I am glad to be back and maybe will even manage to do some designing of some sort as I seem to have retained my graphics capability but someone else will have to configure anything I make because that I cannot remember how to do at all. I paint a lot using the computer and a mixture of paint and graphics programs to put together pictures. Here's a painting of me in my powerchair before the UK went into lockdown.
:pompoms Yippee. He's here.
It is sad there are people out there ready to take advantage of others misfortune.
I just finished configuring a restaurant and research center you did the graphics for. So you know Jay and I will happily eventually finish anything you do the graphics for.
Hi Dr. Rick. :bye
Of course, it is wonderful to see you here again. You have been missed.
:throw
Welcome back, Dr Rick!! :pompoms We have most certainly missed you. :throw
:throw :throw :hugs1 :throw :throw
Dr Rick...You have always been in my thoughts and prayers!!!
You look sharp in that chair. I'm glad you are back.
I just came back too. We are doing well in our part of the world. Our state is opening up slowly.
Glad that you can drop in...I'm so glad you are still with us!
Peace and love,
Your friend,
Caddie/Michael
:throw :throw :hugs1 :throw :throw
Hey Rick!
So good to see and hear from you. :bye Nice wheels! Maybe the boys from Top Gear, can trick them out for you.
Thank you all! :hugs1 :hugs1 :hugs1 I'm still not up to coming online every day but I'm getting there. I am working on a HUGE painting at the moment (22700 pixels tall and 14000 pixels across). I have just assembled all the pieces together for the first time (it is easier to work on smaller pieces and then put them together at the end). I will make a smaller version of it and post it here later, but as it takes almost an hour just to save it onto my hard drive, I can't make the smaller image of it yet as I am waiting for it to save!!
Wow. Can't wait to see it.
Well here it is, 1/10 full size (2270x1400 pixels), saved as a jpeg to reduce the size of the file still further (I normally save the bits I am working in a lossless PNG format so that the image does not get degraded by being saved over and over again. The making of the actual picture is very nearly completed. The sky, various ranges of mountains and foothills all come from different original public domain images. The trees on the distant ridges are from various mountain slopes around the world, with several ridges coming from different parts of Mauritius. On the nearest tree covered ridge, I constructed the ridge, covered it with soil, covered the soil with patches of ferns and then planted all the individual trees.
The nearest ridges and the flat grasslandin the foreground are covered with flowering meadow, which was originally two different flat. meadows, one with pink flowers and the other with yellow flowers. I worked out, by experimentation, how to make the flat meadow represent interlocking ridges. I planted a few trees as horses should always have shade they can shelter under for hot sunny days.
I cut the horses out of hundreds of different pictures, adding hooves and noses where these were hidden by the grass of the field that the particular horse was in. I have tried to represent every genetic colour combination that horses can have as well as everything from miniature horses through ponies and normal sized horses to giant plough-horses. The only things that are missiing are Przewalski's wild horses and Akhal Teke horses from Turkmenestan, both of which will have their own picture once I have completed this one.
I still have about half the horses to add to this picture and then I have to turn the picture into a painting using a combination of two paint programs, Corel Painter 2020 and Dynamic Auto Painter. I have configured these to use information on colour and direction of blocks of colour in the image I have created to put synthesised brushtrokes onto a virtual canvas... So it has taken me two months to get to this point and I think that I have about a months worth of work left to do.
Absolutely love it. :heart Stunning and my favourite animals.
I also love the picture. It is colorful and detailed. :clap2
It's beautiful. I read your explanation...I couldn't do it. I barely could do a map in two months.
I cannot wait to see the completed work!
:luv
Dear all, I am so very sorry for the very long silence while I have learned how to live with a slowly progressive disabling motor neurone disease. However, I am now through the worst of the adaptation and what is much more exciting is that I have spent the last three years working on my memory which had ben badly damaged by the MND. I decided to throw all my resources at that and at learning how to paint using a PC, an iPad and and iPhone. How well I have succeeded as an artist you can judge for yourselves, there is an old blog which I restarted very recently https://drrickblog.wordpress.com/cats-so-many-cats/ , I also have a Flickr page which is supposed to be aeroplanes, racing cars and things to do with living on the autistic spectrum and has about 200 paintings , but needs tidying up https://www.flickr.com/photos/drrickzt/ and finally I have three pages on a wellbeing site open to all, wth a Christian ethos. I am fascinated by flowers, biodiversity, light, reflections, symmetry and things that look as though they might be symmetrical, plus also representational art about abstract ideas like peace.
I do have one piece of potentially good news to share. Because my brain is now working as well as it ever did, I am a patient fellow (a scientist working in the field of MND who has MND) at the international symposium with 1200 other delegates, and someone was talking about games which can be adapted for people who control their computer, as I do, with a limited range of inputs, or indeed single swich like Stephen Hawking did, or eye gaze technology. I asked if this game (the original pixel-based animations in Zoo Tycoon up to Complete Collection, but not including the later versions of the game like zoo tycoon 2) would be adaptable to use this platform and the answer is a resounding yes.
The last time I looked, you could still buy Zoo Tycoon CC repackaged by a company that specialises in cheap old software, from places like pound or dollar shops. Does anyone know if any of those versions of the game are still on the market anywhere in the world? Although rebadged the only file thy had changed was the ini file that set the game going, to include and extra screen with the new owner's logo on it. I successfully used the full range of user-made creations on myyne, so that had made no changes to the game code, but I guess that was 2018 or something like that. You can stall get it in the UK second-user but I can't find any evidence the the ubisoft version i still available new.
1 in 300 adults will develop MND sometime in their life, so if we can make Zoo Tycoon available to that community, that is millions of people at any one time. No changes need to be made to the game or to the user-made creations, all that is needed is for the people who make the interface platform to be convinced that it is worthwhile (that's my job) and then the number of people playing the game will start to increase again, and whatever downloads are still available or can be rescued and made available again, all those items will start to be downloaded again. The game is ideal for people living with MND because it does not involve any particular need for speed. A person could download a user-made tem, add it to the game and then, using just the movements of their eyes or just instruction given through a single switch, slowly inch the item into position and slowly but surely create a really interesting zoo.
Hi Dr. Rick. :bye
Of course, it is wonderful to see you here again. You have been missed. And of course it is good to hear about the progress. Thanks for the links. I looked at the pictures and read most of the words.
As for your question about Zoo Tycoon CC, I am not aware of it being sold anywhere other than people selling ones they bought. As far as I know, Microsoft still owns the rights to all versions. When Ubisoft made it available, they got permission from Microsoft to re-release it. So if anyone wanted to re-release it again, including with changes to make it available to those with MMD or others, I assume they could contact Microsoft.
Once again, it is wonderful to see you here again.
:throw
Hi Rick. Good to hear you are doing well considering. Have missed you here. :hugs1
Your finished downloads are still available over at DG. ZooTek Phoenix is still up and running. ZA and ZKL are still around for downloads but are quiet.
Hello both of you, thank you for your kind greetings. I am so glad that you are keeping things going, that is truly a labour of love, and I love you both for it!
It is actually pretty good news that Microsoft still own the rights to the game, because they are usually quite supportive of people living with disabilities. They might be prepared to licence the game to one of the organisations that support the MND/ALS community. It is definitely something I shall ask them about. I don't think any adaptation to the game or user-made creations would be needed at all. The neat thing about single switch control and eye gaze technology is that the system is essentially a mouse emulator, and so once it has done its trickery in reading your gaze direction, it turns that information into mouse instruction in the usb bus, just like any other mouse.
I forgot to put the links to the wellbeing site, or its name - duh! https://underthethinkingtree.com/ricks-paintings/ and also https://underthethinkingtree.com/rick-tells-his-story/ and https://underthethinkingtree.com/prayer-reflections/
They changed my life when I was really struggling, by inviting me to be their artist in residence. I think I have probably just made my breakthrough as an artist, but I can't announce anything yet, but if we get from where we are now, up the last little bit of the hill, I shall suddenly cease to be a largely unknown artist living with MND... (I am well known to the people of Cambridgeshire and I'm called Rick the artist on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire and have appeared on local TV, (when I had an exhibition at Peterborough Cathedral) We shall see, whatever happens it is extraordinarily exciting. By downloading BBC Sounds you can listen to BBC Radio Cambridgeshire anywhere in the world - we know this because we have listeners in America and elsewhere. Louise Hulland does two programmes a week and I always contribute to those, and usually to Dotty McLeod. Love from Rick
I had gotten the first link from your flickr page. And the first link gave me the second link. But I hadn't noticed the page from your third link. So thanks for posting them.

Dr. Rick, it's so great to hear from you again!! :pompoms
Wow. If the interface platform for Zoo Tycoon could be adapted like you talked, that would be so amazing!

Hello!
My name is Eric. I originally joined the Zoo Tycoon community when I had just turned 13 years old back in 2006. I had a blast being a part many forums and somehow got up to moderating some of them, including ZooAdmin and a few others lost to time. At some point I think I owned/ran the most active forum for a while (Northern Skies had 10,000 members and 200,000+ messages!). I was a teenager and had no idea how to be a webmaster so mistakes were made along the way.
I was also a Zoo Tycoon 2 designer and was lucky to be one of the members of Artifex along with Penguinman, Mikaboshi, and others. I didn't have a lot of notoriety but all of this is to say: the Zoo Tycoon community is what got me interested in computer science.
16 years later and now I'm majoring in CS with a couple of years left. Recently I came back and rejoined ZooTek. The community as a whole isn't what it used to be, but I'm so fond of my time with it that I decided to take on an ambitious project over at Tek.
Anyway, Fern encouraged me to join a couple of times and I figured it would be a fun way to exchange messages with Jay once in a blue moon. I've heard lots of great things!
It helps that I've got the ZT1 design bug.
You made it here. Great. Have fun.
Welcome, Eric. :bye
Good luck and, more importantly, have fun with your designing and programming. Happy Zoo Tycooning.
Thanks! Glad to be here. 🙂
