Description: The saola is generally considered to be the greatest animal discovery in recent times, and is so different from any currently known species that a separate genus has had to be constructed. The classification of the saola is under some controversy, with different physiological and genetic studies placing it with either goats, antelope, or cattle. Only 'discovered' by western science in 1992 the saola is considered endangered. These animals provide interest to any zoo.
