Description: The blond bear is a color phase of the American black bear. This particular color phase is most common in the western portion of North America and is thought to be due to the more open habitat of that region. Brown, black, and cinnamon "black" bears are also found in the same regions as blond bears.

Blond bears have the same habitat needs as regular black bears. It is compatible with black, cinnamon, and glacier phases of the American bear.
