Description: Raccoon dogs (Nyctereutes procyonoides) are considered to be the most primitive member of the dog family. In appearance, they resemble raccoons. Raccoon dogs do display most of the characteristics of other canines; however, they cannot bark. They live in pairs or small family groups of the parents and their cubs.

Raccoon dogs are native to eastern Asia and prefer to live in moist forest regions. They are omnivores and will eat most anything they can find.

Raccoon Dog

raccoons.  Raccoon dogs do display most of the characteristics of other
