Description: Gothic Lions are a very recent discovery to the lion family. They were discovered in year 2000, by a mountain hiker who happened to notice a flash of black and white off in the distance and came across a cave of lions with black manes and white fur.The term " Gothic " Lion comes from the coloring of the lion's mane in contrast to its fur. The black mane and the white fur coloring is compared to the social fad of Gothic teenagers dying their hair black and painting their faces white. Gothic Lions are local to low altitude mountain forests, dwelling in rock caves.
