Description: The native habitat of the bay rhinoceros is the deep tropical rainforests of India. The bay rhino can stand more than five feet tall and weigh as much as 4,000 pounds. This species is distinguished by two horns and a hooked prehensile upper lip. The bay rhino is a subspecies of black rhino, but its Indian habitat suggests that it is perhaps a missing link of sorts, genetically connecting both black and Indian rhinos.
