Description: Although they look similar, many experts believe this species is NOT closely related to the Asiatic Golden Cat. This medium-sized (11-14 kg) cat lives in the moist tropical forests of Africa, however it sometimes ventures into the savanna grasslands. The African Golden Cat has both a reddish-brown and grey color form. The underside of the cat is always white, often with large black spots.
