Cascade Mountains Wolf (1)

The Cascade Mountains Wolf is sadly extinct in the wild, although there may be
some genes from the subspecies present in some of the wolves from areas in the
West of North America and there are some animals in captivity that may
represent the subspecies.  Curiously, there are still wolves in the Cascade
Mountains but these are descendents of other wolves that moved in south from
British Columbia after the extinction of the Cascades Wolf in the 1930s. The
scientific name is Canis lupus fuscus.
