Description: Malayan porcupine is a largest rodent habits the Malaysia and others countries in Asia. With the big spikes, Malayan porcupine are protected of a big number of predators, like cats, rapine birds, etc. Hystrix brachyuran, the scientific name of Malayan porcupine. Malayan porcupine eats shrubs and grass. Also insects, probably. Also, the spikes help Malayan porcupine to hide in grass. Other species of porcupine is the South America species, coendu, the tree porcupine, mouse bear of North America, African porcupine and others. Malayan porcupine live in small groups or solitary. It is active during the day. This animal will add interest to any zoo.
