Description: The striped monitor lizard (in genre Varanus) is a small insect eating reptile found in semi-desert areas of Africa continent. This little lizard is a member of Varanidae, the family includes the Komodo dragon. With the aspect of a snake, striped monitor lizards live in deserts to catch insects of various types. The others varieties of monitor lizards in the world are the gray African monitor lizard, skinks and the Komodo dragons. These animals provide interest to any zoo.

Striped monitor lizard

The striped monitor lizard(in genre Varanus) is a smallest insectivore reptile
found in semidesertic areas of Africa continent.This little lizard is a member
of Varanidae,the family includes the Komodo dragon.The aspect of a
snake,striped monitor lizard live in deserts to catch insects,of various
types.The size,maximum 1,60 meters,help to amedrontatate the predators.The
others varietys of monitors lizards in the world are the gray african monitor
lizard,skinks and the Komodo dragons.
