In the Zoo Science Interactive guests will have a great time doing lots of hands-on science with a focus on the science required to run a zoo. Experiments that guests can try out include aspects of the use of antibodies in pregnancy testing, diagnosis and treatment, genetic profiling to investigate the ancestry and paternity of zoo animals, cloning to propagate rare and desirable plants, in-vitro fertilisation to improve fertility of rare animals, light, UV and electron microscopy to investigate animal and plant functioning, chemical tests used to study everything from blood chemistry to nutrient and pollutant status of water and soil, digital X-ray photography and displays featuring current developments, as well as the application of maths to science, for example chaos, catastrophe theory and Fibonacci numbers. There is also a gift shop that sells safe and exciting chemistry set, a tank and net for studying small invertebrates, a super quality microscope and a fun plasma ball.
