Description:  Also known as the Little Spotted Cat and locally as the tigrillo chico, the Oncilla is similar in body shape and size to an ordinary house cat, weighing about 2.2kg and about 40-55 cm long. It is similar looking to the Margay (to which it is closely related), however its rosettes are lighter, its fur is not as thick, and its tail is shorter - 56% of the head and body length. Oncillas have tawny/buff fur covered with dark brown or black elongated spots - the under parts of the cat are lighter in color and are less densely marked.
