Tundra Wolf (1)

The Tundra Wolf is a subspecies of Grey Wolf that can be found throughout
northern Europe and Asia, primarily in the northern arctic and boreal tundra
and forest-tundra regions from Finland eastward to the Kamchatka Peninsula of
Russia. Although they were eliminated from some of the Arctic islands north of
Siberia, they have been recently seen on Wrangle Island. The scientific name
is Canis lupus albus. These animals may be the same as the Alaskan Tundra Wolf
(sometimes named Canis lupus tundrarum) which ranges along the tundra region
of Alaska's arctic coast, and like the tundra wolf is a large wolf with long
light coloured fur.
