ZT Unleashed seems to have no one around doing the new members validations these days.

It would seem that ZTUF (Zoo Tycoon Unleashed) has gone as links have not worked for some time now. Some files were already available at other sites and authors permissions will allow the release of some more files so not too many will be lost.

Dumb question - for big download sites that have now departed this mortal coil like Zoo Admin   and Zoo Tycoon Unleashed   is there any way to access any of their downloads . I did start trying to assemble a complete collection of all downloads ever ever ever, but multiple hard drive failures at critical points in the process over a number of years leave me almost exactly where I started  

The general answer is that their downloads cannot be accessed. Sometimes the downloads can be found at archive.org. But archive.org usually does not make a copy of every page of a site. And some sites do not give download access to guests, which is the only way archive.org would be able to make a copy. For some sites that have left, the owners of the sites gave permissions to other sites to host their downloads. But that is not the case for those two sites. Sometimes a site can get permission from specific designers to host their creations elsewhere. That has happened for some designers. The only other way to get the downloads is via private communication. For example, it is possible to ask someone you know via email. Also, I believe Phoenix allows people to exchange things via private messages. But getting everything for a site via private messages might cause their bandwidth costs to increase, depending on their agreement with their web host. Zoo Admin had more than 2 GB of ZT1 downloads and more than 1 GB of ZT2 downloads.
