Description: Along the rugged, remote coast of British Columbia lives a population of American black bears that produces white bears at a remarkable frequency. In this population one out of ten bears is white! These white bears are not the result of albinism, but of a unique recessive gene that produces white hair instead of black. This remarkable population of black bears lives only in the temperate rainforest of the central coast of British Columbia, Canada. This is another version of the Canadian white black bear. These animals will add interest to any zoo.
