Description: Dryopithecus fontani was the European species of Dryopithecus. Other remains of Dryopithecus species have been found in Africa. This fossil ape was present in Europe during the Miocene era.

Dryopithecus fontani was the European species of Dryopithecus.  Other remains
of Dryopithecus species have been found in Africa.  This fossil ape was
present in Europe during the Miocene era.
