Dunlin

The Dunlin is the commonest and most well known small wader encountered in its
breeding and overwintering grounds, with a global population of about 5
million birds.  Its scientific name is Calidris alpina.  It belongs, with
other common waders, to the family called Scolopacidae, the Sandpipers and
their relatives.
