Description: Duck billed platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus) is one of two reminiscent species of monotremates, which also includes the echidna. What would you think of an animal that has a bill and webbed feet like a duck, and a flat tail like a beaver? An animal with thick fur like a mammal that lays eggs like a reptile?
At first glance, a platypus bill looks a lot like a ducks bill. But a ducks bill is hard and horny, while a platypus is soft and rubbery and packed with sensitive nerves. It's used to feel around in the mud for food. A platypus has an incredible appetite. It can eat 12,500 worms in a month!
The bill of the platypus can get a eletric charge in the food to kill.
