Description: The Senegal Jackal is also known as the Small Black Jackal although it is not particulalry small and is not actually black.  It is a Golden Jackal subspecies from Senegal in West Africa.

Senegal Jackal

The Senegal Jackal is also known as the Small Black Jackal although it is not
particulalry small and is not actually black.  It is a Golden Jackal
subspecies from Senegal in West Africa.  It is darker in colour than other
Golden jackal subspecies. Its scientific name is Canis aureus anthus.  Like
most other Golden Jackals this subspecies prefers arid savannah.
