Description: The oribi (Ourebia ourebi) is a small antelope found on floodplains, savannah and light bushland of sub-Sahara Africa. They are usually found in small family groups consisting of a male and one or two females, although they sometimes form larger temporary herds. Oribi are light brown in color with white under parts and a black tipped tail, which is held out while running. These animals will provide interest to any zoo.

Oribi

The oribi (Ourebia ourebi) is a small antelope found on floodplains, savannah
and light bushland of sub-Sahara Africa. They are usually found in small
family groups consisting of a male and one or two females, although they
sometimes form larger temporary herds. Oribi are light brown in color with
white under parts and a black tipped tail, which is held out while running.
Oribi have a long, slender neck and legs, and average 20 to 30 pounds in
weight. Males have short, straight horns. Oribi are inquisitive creatures, and
will often stop fleeing when startled to look back to see what disturbed them.
They feed mainly on grasses, but also browse on low-lying forbs.
