Foliage / Re: Dr R Prehistoric Trees
Last post by Jay - October 20, 2026, 08:01:36 AMThe Prehistoric Trees were updated September 28, 2026 by fern and Jay to add the foliage to the "Dinosaur Digs" purchase menu filter, to add the tankable Cordaites also to the "Marine Mania" purchase menu filter, to prevent Pleuromeia from crashing non-English versions of ZT, to add geologic period ranges provided by VNDragon for the tooltips, to correct the spelling for Archaeopteris, Chaloneria, Clevelandodendron, and Cordaites (but not in ztd names so that 2 versions cannot be placed in ZT's folders at the same time), to change the geologic period/era for Alethopteris, Archaeopteris, and Pleuromeia to match Dr. Rick's Description, to change the location of Archaeopteris and Pleuromeia to Many to match Dr. Rick's Description, to increase the Esthetic Value for Dicroidium, to change the habitat of Medullosa from Coniferous Forest to Rainforest to match the tooltip and Dr. Rick's Description, to allow Glossopteris, Medullosa, and Pleuromeia on water terrain to match Dr. Rick's Description, to rename the Araucaria version that is recent to Cook Pine in ZT, to change the location of Wollemi Pine to Australia to match the tooltip and Dr. Rick's Description, to allow the Wollemi Pine be turned into tree rubble by large dinosaurs, and to remove unnecessary files. In addition, hacks were created for some of the foliage to show more accurate geologic periods/eras in the foliage purchase menu when used with LANG--ZBorsato.dll.

Overview: Allows geologic periods/eras as long as "Carboniferous" to be shown in the objects purchase menu, such as for foliage.
Description: When DD was created, BF allowed some animals and foliage to be from 1 of 4 geologic periods, which BF called eras although eras actually contain multiple geologic periods. The 4 geologic periods they made available were Triassic, Jurassic, Cretaceous, and Ice Age. Those are shown in the purchase menu for some animals and foliage. In 2018, Borsato created LANG--ZBorsato.dll to allow more geologic periods in ZT, among other things. One of the intended geologic periods was "Carboniferous". But ZT did not allow enough space in the purchase menu area for that long of a name. So LANG--ZBorsato.dll originally contained "Carbonifer". LANG--ZBorsato.dll has since been updated to contain "Carboniferous". When ZT tries to show that name in the purchase menu area, it will show "Carbonifer..." instead. With this hack, I slightly lowered where the geologic period is shown and allowed slightly more space. So it now will show the full "Carboniferous" name in the objects purchase menu that includes foliage. Being a hack, this hack cannot be used at the same time as any other "buldhab.lyt" hacks.
Where To Put The ztd: Extract increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.ztd from increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.zip. If your main ZT folder already has a hacks or hacks-unused folder, put increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.ztd in that folder. Otherwise if your main ZT folder already has a dlupdate folder, put increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.ztd in that dlupdate folder. Otherwise put increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.ztd in the Updates folder.
The preferred location for increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.ztd is a hacks or hacks-unused folder to keep hacks separate from non-hacks. But this approach needs to be set up first in order to use. The download post for the Allow Purchasing Young Hack says how to set it up.
Additional Notes: I feel increaseEraSpaceForObjectsHack.ztd can always be kept in the hacks (or dlupdate or Updates) folder, since it is unrelated to everything else.

Updated: In 2009 by casey to fix the graphics so that the entrance is in the correct position in both front views. Updated in 2009, 2019, and 2026 by casey and Jay to have the animation speeds match for all views, to have it also appear in the User Food/Drink purchase menu filter, to have the messages no longer conflict with DD messages, to have a proper restaurant guest thought, to increase the purchase price and use costs to be more in-line with ZT's restaurant, to remove money and any trash a guest may have, to add ZT's restaurant sound, and to remove unnecessary files and configuration lines.

Description: Guests will appreciate being able to enjoy Hawaiian food and watch the hula dancers. Created before the release of the Dinosaur Digs (DD) expansion, the original zip used an exe that overrode the ingame dll and used IDs that Blue Fang used in the DD expansion for fences. With updates from casey and Jay, we are now releasing it back into play. The messages are in langZA03.dll. The purchase menu name is "Hawaiian Restaurant", while the purchase menu tooltip uses the more specific name "Aloha Grill Restaurant". Enjoy.
